This qualification is for all learners who are capable of reaching the required standards and wish to achieve the role of manager. The certification of the competence would help in getting further work and acquire blue CPCS card through either of the official recognised industry schemes.

Appointed Person NVQ Level 5 Course: Course content



PRACTICAL: The assessment process consists in 2 - 3 site visits performed by one of our assessors at your place to perform direct observation as well as collect workplace evidences that will cover the criteria of the qualification. This could include - but not limited to - method statements and risk assessments, lift plans, permits of work, installation drawings, specifications for lifting gear, pre-use inspections, lifting reports, company policies, schedules of work, training matrix, material management related documents, plant management related documents ; any kind of similar document can be used by the assessor in documenting your competence.

THEORETICAL: The assessment will include a section of the evaluation of the job knowledge. This can be completed either in writing - by answering the standard questionnaire (approx. 80 questions) - or by having a recorded conversation with the assessor on topics such as planning of the works, works implied by the supervision role, quality checks as well as general H&S

How long does it take to complete?
There is no official indication on how long the assessment process should take - there is a certain number of GUIDED learning hours to be found in the qualification specification of the awarding body – please see PDF document.

Typically, the assessment process takes at least 6 months, after which the assessor should be in the position to finalise the observation report and close out the coverage of all criteria. This along with the IQA and potential EQA process for the issuing of the diploma should not exceed an additional period of 2 – 3 weeks.

Upon enrolment, you become eligible to apply for an extension to the Red CPCS card through either of the official recognised industry schemes. ✭ The delegate must have completed an appointed person with an awarding body that is officially recognised

✭ have proven experience with lifting operations
✭ Learners must be working as a lift planner or within site management with collateral responsibilities in lifting management.
